Redlands Holiday Parade kicks off the series of city anniversary events

The Kiwanis Club of Redlands kicked off the city’s 125th anniversary with the 2012 Holiday Parade. The theme of this year’s parade was “125th Christmas Celebration”. The parade took place on the evening of Saturday, December 1.

“This year’s parade theme celebrates the city’s 125th Anniversary,” Carl Baker said. “Marking the kick off of the year-long Quadricentennial celebration.”

Prior to the parade there were musical selections held at Ed Hales Park. Husband and wife duo, Todd and Barbi, performed a few numbers ranging from artist Elvis Presley to Patty Loveless and Beatles to Dixie Chicks. Todd and Barbi have been performing together since 1972. For those who missed the performance and enjoy live music, Todd and Barbi will be performing on Saturday, December 8 at the Jerry L. Pettis Memorial VA Medical Center in Loma Linda. Memoirs also performed a few musical numbers before the parade.
