New Avoid the 25 DUI Enforcement Amendment approved by City Council

The Redlands City Council approved a first amendment to the agreement with the City of Ontario to participate in the Avoid the 25 DUI Enforcement Program. The amendment was approved and brought to the Council by Police Chief Mark Garcia.

According to Chief Garcia, the Redlands Police Department has participated in the Avoid the 25 DUI Enforcement Program for the past several years, and in the past the program was administrated by the City of Ontario’s Police Department.

The purpose of the program is to fund saturation patrols and checkpoints during the holiday periods in 25 different jurisdictions of San Bernardino County. There were five saturation patrols and four check points held in Redlands last year.
